Vice Admiral Owusu-Ansah buried at Antoa

Antoa (Ash), March 20, GNA - Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Osei Owusu-Ansah (rtd), former Chief of Naval Staff, was buried in his home-town, Antoa, in the Kwabre East District of Ashanti, on Thursday. Vice-Admiral Owusu-Ansah, 66, died in Accra on January 18, this year, and was laid to rest at Antoa on Thursday with full military honours.

A government delegation led by Mr Kofi Poku Manu, Ashanti Regional Minister, presented assorted drinks and a donation of GH¢2,500.00 to the bereaved family.

The Ministry of Defence also donated GH¢2,500.00 while the Ministry of Transport presented GH¢2,000.00 Ghana cedis. Among the thousands of mourners at the funeral were, Brigadier-General J. Nunoo-Mensah, National Security Advisor, Lieutenant-General Joseph Henry Smith (rtd), Minister of Defence, Mr Oteng Agyei, Minister of Energy, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Eastern Regional Minister.

The Late Vice-Admiral Owusu-Ansah was appointed the interim Minister of Defence by President J.E.A. Mills, when he assumed office in January. 20 March 09
