VICANDE PTA REWARDS TEACHERS

The Parent-Teacher Association of Vicande School, a private basic school in Kumasi has rewarded the teachers for their show of steadfastness, commitment and diligence as well as their caring attitude to work at a P.T.A meeting held the School’s premises in Kumasi.

The award package was in the form of cash between GH¢500 to GH¢100. This was to express the P.T.A’s deepest satisfaction for the excellent B.E.C.E results since the establishment of the school.

The award winners included Mr. Ghandi Agyei Kyeremateng the Assistant Headmaster in charge of academic, Mr. Westwood Aganda of the English Department and Mr. Prince Oppong Darlington of the ICT Department. The rest are Mr. David Nabare Gbati, French and Mr. Louis Boakye, Agric Science.

The Chairman of the P.T.A. Rev. Dr. Peter Awuah a, E.N.T specialist of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in his address, said the initiative was taken by the executive of the P.T.A. to appreciate the work of the hardworking teachers. He said this year’s award was just a starter and indicated there were quite a number of incentive packages lined up for teachers to motivate them to continue to give off their best.

The P.T.A also promised to buy a brand new Nissan Urvan bus to augment the administrative duties of the school and run other official duties for the P.T.A. The P.T.A chairman expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the entire teaching staff for exhibiting very high sense of diligence and commitment to make the School number one in the Kumasi Metropolis.

Rev. Dr. Awuah thanked parents for helping to solve the acute water problem in the school for providing 52 million old Cedis to construct a borehole fitted with pumping machine.

The Headmaster of the school Mr. Patrick Adusei in his address outlined some major projects which the school had been able to executive. These included the renovation of the Staff common room, the refurbishment of the junior block, and the expansion and repairs of the toilet to accommodate the increasing number of the school’s population.

Mr. Adusei advised parents to make their children’s education their number one priority and try to visit the school regularly to acquaint themselves with developments in their wards academic performance so that they can make constructive criticisms to ensure quality education for their wards.

“As major stake holders of the school we will certainly need your support and suggestion for the smooth administrative running of school” he added.
