Vehicle runs over 2 SHS students on ‘okada’

A speeding KIA truck with registration number GW-3268-17 has run over two Ofaakor Senior High School students at Kasoa in the Central Region killing them on the spot.

The deceased students who were on a motorbike were crashed to death by the driver of the vehicle, who veered off the main highway and run into them at about 6am on Wednesday.

According to an account by Unit committee Chairman for Domiabra -Obom, Joseph Akrashie on Adom FM, the truck on top speed was heading from Accra to the Central Region when suddenly the driver appeared to have lost control.

“Two school children going to school on a motorbike crashed with a KIA. It was a serious accident. It is very gory and bad. The students were on an ‘okada’ and the KIA truck which was coming from Accra veered off the road and crashed them to death” he narrated.

The District Crime Officer, Ngleshie Amanfrom, ASP Anokye Amaniampong, confirmed the unfortunate development but disclosed that his outfit has launched investigations into the matter while the suspect driver is currently in their custody.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Morgue for preservation pending autopsy
