Veep visits site of collapsed three-storey building

The Vice President of Ghana, Mr K. B. Amissah-Arthur, last weekend visited the site of the collapsed building at Cantonments in Accra.

Last Saturday about 1:30 p.m., a three-story building that was under construction collapsed trapping workers who were on the site and injuring 18 of them, while three persons, including the owner of the building, Dr Prosper Adabla, died in the disaster.

Mr Amissah-Arthur visited the disaster site to solidarize with victims, friends and families of the deceased.

He commended the rescuers and emergency services personnel which include National Disaster Management Committee (NADMO), the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Police Service and the military, for their sacrifice and dedication to duty.

Meanwhile The La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) has come out to state that the three – storey building which collapsed was without a building permit.
