The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has underscored the importance of closing the communication gap between government and citizens, stressing that effective communication is vital to transparency, trust and national cohesion.
In a post shared on her social media page on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, she shared insights from a strategic meeting with Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, where they reviewed the current state of government communication and explored ways to improve coordination and public engagement.
“I spoke about the importance of closing the communication gap between government and citizens, noting that effective public relations is essential to transparency, trust and national cohesion. I commended the Ministry for its efforts, particularly the Government Accountability Series, and encouraged stronger collaboration across agencies to leverage their unique strengths,” she stated.
The Vice President emphasised the need for information to be managed responsibly and strategically, noting that it shapes public perception and national confidence.
“I urged the ministry and its agencies to innovate, strengthen their outreach, and continue working to bring government closer to the people. I reaffirmed the government's support in addressing their operational challenges and advancing a more responsive and effective communication framework,” she added.
