VIP Jeoun to sue impersonators

VIP Jeoun Transport Limited has served notice it will prosecute transport agencies operating illegally in its name.

This was after investigations revealed that an accident involving a supposed VIP coach on 1 May on the Sunyani-Berekum never happened.

According to the transport operators, these are meant to maliciously tarnish the reputation of the company.

They are, therefore, warning any transport company using the VIP name and colours to desist from such practice or face the law.

Mr Adakabre Frimpong Manso, General Manager of VIP Jeoun Transport limited, stated on Wednesday, 3 May 2018, that: “Because of the growth of VIP as a brand, several bus operators are now spraying their buses red and inscribing VIP on them and when they are in breach of the road traffic regulations, the public tend to think that it is VIP. VIP has taken passenger safety as a core value; as a result, we train our drivers very well.

“Notice has been served of our intentions to go to court, there are specific laws here in Ghana that govern what everybody should do, and, as we registered this company, we registered the mark VIP and registered the colour”.

He disclosed that they know the identities of some of their impersonators and served notice of VIP Jeoun’s intention to seek redress in court if need be.

Mr Frimpong Manso admitted that some of the perpetrators may be breaching the law out of ignorance but said VIP Jeoun will no longer tolerate that.
