V/R schools set for BECE

Alavanyo-Wudidi (V/R), April 20, GNA - Mr John Hobenu, Volta Regional Director of Education on Thursday said adequate preparation work had been completed for the commencement of this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Region.

A total of 25,251 candidates from the Region are expected to write the weeklong examination slated for April 23-27.

Mr Hobenu, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Alavanyo-Wudidi in the Hohoe District, said latest by Sunday question papers would have been dispatched to all examination depots.

He said adequate security measures had been deployed for the safety of papers and conduct of students, invigilators and other stakeholders. The Regional Director said monitoring and supervisory teams from the regional office with oversight responsibility in each of the four zones would ensure success.

Mr Hobenu warned candidates that the rules governing the conduct of examinations remained the same or stricter and admonishing them to refrain from actions, which were likely to jeopardize their future academic progress.

He wished them God's blessing and good luck.
