Unite for development - Anthony Karbo

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Lawra Constituency and Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, has called on residents of Lawra to unite for development.

Speaking at an end of year get together organized by him on New Year’s Day, the MP urged constituents to focus on the fight against poverty and underdevelopment which he described as the common enemy militating against the development of the constituency.

‘At the stage we have reached as a Constituency, what we need to do is to put aside our differences and work towards rising our constituency up from the pits of underdevelopment and poverty’ he said.

In a rare show of solidarity, executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Lawra Constituency honoured the MP’s invitation to attend the well patronized event.

The MP’s annual get together was well patronized with representatives from other political parties partaking in the event.

This is the first of its kind organized in the constituency by any sitting MP with a promise by Anthony Abayifaa Karbo to make it an annual ritual.

Patrons who spoke to on the sidelines of the merry making event, were elated indicating that the fact they belonged to different political parties does not mean they are at war with each other.

They appealed to the Deputy Minister to ensure that this is continued as a way of fostering good relationship between members and executives of both the NDC, NPP and other political parties in the constituency.
