Union commends Minister for co-operation

Accra, Dec. 24, GNA- The Teachers and Educational Workers' Union (TEWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) has commended Mr Kwadwo Baah Wiredu, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports together with his Deputy for handling industrial relations matters with dispatch.

The TEWU said the way the Minister and Mr Joe Donkoh co-operated with TEWU to resolve issues concerning non-teaching staff helped to nib in the bud industrial actions during the last quarter of the year.

Mr Dan Antwi, the General Secretary of TEWU, said "we are expressing our appreciation also to Mr Yaw Barimah, Minister for Manpower Development and Employment for his co-operative attitude". Mr Antwi said TEWU is always prepared to work with other stakeholders.

"We are asking the rank and file to reciprocate the help of the ministers by moving quality education forward through hard and dedicated work.''
