US city donates vehicles to Ghana Armed Forces

Accra, April 22, GNA- The US city of Dayton, Ohio, on Tuesday donated two used fire trucks and two ambulances to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The donation was made possible by Mr Frank Kwesi Ghand, an administrative supervisor of the Department of Fire in the City of Dayton, Ohio.

The two fire trucks would help in fire fighting while the two ambulances would facilitate casualty evacuation.

Mr Ephraim Ghand, a representative of Mr Ghand, handed over the vehicles to the GAF at a ceremony at Burma Camp in Accra. Mr Kwesi Ghand made arrangements for the donation following a request by his daughter-in-law, a fire fighter in Ghana, for his assistance for equipment and logistics to combat fire, training manuals and tools.

Receiving the items, Brigadier-General John Forkuo, Director of Plans and Development of the GAF, gave the assurance that the vehicles would be maintained so that would last longer. He cautioned those who would use the vehicles to handle them well.
