US-Based Citizens Society Donates to School

THE KYIDOM Mma Kuo, a benevolent society of Kwahu Pepease citizens based in New York, USA, has presented a number of items to the St. Dominic Senior Secondary School (SSS) at Kwahu Pepease in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region.

The items included a colour television set and a video deck, mower and a number of footballs worth over ?12 million.

In addition, the group donated ?10 million cash as their contribution towards the putting up of a hostel for the school.

The chief of Pepease, Nana Okyere Ampadu, who is also the Kyidomhene of the Kwahu traditional area, making the presentation on behalf of the group, urged the school authorities to take very good care of the items to enable others who are yet to enter the school benefit.

He advised the students to study hard to justify the investment which the government, their parents and others are making on them.

He also called on other groups in the town to emulate the New York group and come home to assist in various development projects in the town.

The acting headmaster of the school, Mr. Patrick Asamoah Koduah, thanked the group and called on others to come to the aid of the school to enhance education in the area.

He said the school lacks a number of amenities such as accommodation, transport and many others and, therefore, called on all Pepease citizens to contribute their quota to assist the school.
