US Ambassador calls on Regional Minister

Kumasi, April 28, GNA- Pamela E. Bridgewater, the United States Ambassador to Ghana, on Monday morning paid a courtesy call on Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister at his office in Kumasi as part of her visit to the region.

Ambassador Bridgewater, whose term of office comes to an end this year after a three-year service in the country, would also visit the Ambassador's Special Self-Help programme for people with disability at Tewobaabi near Ntonso in the Kwabre district and Tetrefu in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district.

Speaking to newsmen in an interview, after a closed door meeting with the Minister, Ambassador Bridgewater indicated her appreciation of the visit to bid farewell to the Minister and all the good people of the region.

She said she was happy to be in the region, though not for the first time, because of the cordial relations and links her office and the people of the United States have with the people of Ashanti and Ghana.

She was optimistic that the cooperation and the cordial relationship between her country and Ghana would be deepened and sustained at all levels.
