UOG, Legon To Reduce Intake

Professor Edward Ofori Sarpong, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, has disclosed that, the university will from the next academic year reduce its annual student intake by half in order to minimize the financial and logistical constraints bedeviling the university.

He said the university admitted 7,960 students during the current academic year but this will be reduced to about 4,000 next academic year. According to him, the university will not offer admission to HND graduates who might want to pursue degree courses because a decision is yet to be taken on the level that they would be placed.

He was speaking at the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Konongo Odumasi Secondary School at Konongo.
