The United Ghanaian Community Church (UGCC) located in suburban Philadelphia in Melrose Park, PA, USA, celebrated its 10th Anniversary this Christmas season. Founded on Christmas Day, December 25, 1995 by the Rev. Kobina Ofosu-Donkoh, PhD, the UGCC has over ten years gone from unknown to having a huge presence in the Greater Philadelphia area, with the numbers of its members escalating beyond imagination.
The theme for the 10th anniversary celebration, "Ten Years of Amazing Grace" was based on a hit gospel track by Holy Ghost International "Mete Ase O! Minwui O," chosen because of the church's trials, tribulations and successes these past 10 years. The elders and members of the church decided to celebrate in style and thank God for "10 Years of Amazing Grace." The four day event was filled with praises and worship, prayers, testimonies and thanksgiving, Bible quiz, gospel concert, and lots of food.
In his 10th Anniversary message on Christmas Day, Dr. Ofosu-Donkoh who also serves as an adjunct at the University of Pennsylvania's African Studies Center and Religion Department, identified the UGCC's 10 year-journey with the wilderness and conquest experience of the Hebrews, stressing further the Prophet Samuel's "Ebenezer - Stone of Help" as significant to the life of the church.
Ghanaweb was part of the celebration, which has been featured below for the viewing pleasure of family and friends worldwide. CONGRATULATIONS FROM GHANAWEB AND HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY!
