Management of the University of Cape Coast has condemned Saturday’s violent clash between residents of the Atlantic Hall (ATL) and Oguaa Hall, both of the University.

University authorities have described the actions of the students as criminal and unfortunate.

In a statement signed by the Registrar of the University, it says that “with the support of relevant security agencies, especially, the Police has initiated investigation into the incident.”

“Management wishes to state unequivocally that all perpetrators would be brought to book and dealt with appropriately,” the statement added.

It is unclear what triggered the fight between residents of the two halls but reports suggest that it started after a resident of the Casely Hayford Hall (CASFORD) was assaulted by some ATL residents in the Oguaa Hall.

According to reports, the CASFORD student had come to visit a friend in the Oguaa Hall

The incident sparked a free-for-all fight, leading to the vandalization of property.
