Two out-going ambassadors call on President Mills

Accra, Oct. 28, GNA- President John Evans Atta Mills on Wednesday pledged the commitment of Ghana to continue her economic diplomacy and collaborate with other countries to improve the living standards of the people. The President said Government had directed its envoys to forge alliances that would inure maximum benefit for Ghana during their tenure of office.

"Ghana is ready to collaborate with countries that would assist her development process," he added. President Mills made the pledge when Mr Miroslav Krenek, Czech Ambassador and Mrs Julia Olomo, Spanish Ambassador, bid farewell to him at the Osu Castle, in Accra.

He expressed appreciation to Mr Krenek for his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations. President Mills presented a traditional stool to the Mr Krenek, and another gift to his wife.

Mr Krenek, said it was joy for him and his wife to be in Ghana for the last four years and participated in the 50 years anniversary of independence, Election 2008, the hosting of the African Cup of Nations and the centenary celebration of the birth of the First President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah. President Mills thanked Spain for her support to Ghana and expressed the hope that bilateral relations would be strengthened.
