Two in court on provisional charge of murder

Elmina, Feb 12, GNA - A tailor and a radio mechanic at Cape Coast, who allegedly raped a 19-year-old girl at Cape Coast leading to her death, were on Friday, arraigned before a District Court at Elmina, on provisional charges of murder.

The pleas of Ernest Andoh, alias Kweku Atta, and Francis Bilman, who were remanded into custody were not taken and they are to be re-arraigned on Friday, February 25, for committal to a higher court. Giving the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the Court that on February 4 2005, Andoh and Bilman who are friends, went on a drinking spree and in the process, allegedly met the deceased, one Dorcas Darko.

Chief inspector Azasoo further alleged that the two friends later lured Dorcas into Andoh's room at Ayeko-Ayeko, a suburb of Cape Coast and raped her in turns, resulting in her death, in the process. The two, then dumped her body outside, and fled but they were arrested upon a tip-off, Inspector Azasoo, stated.
