Abuakwa (Ash), Aug. 25, GNA - Kwaku Duah, 58, and Kwame Adu, 60, both farmers at Asakraka, near Asante-Akropong in the Atwima District are helping the police in their investigations into the murder of Salifu Basare, a 35-year-old farmer.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency on Monday at Abuakwa, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emmanuel Akonnor said that, at about 1900 hours on August 19, this year, Basare left his cottage and went and drunk 'akpeteshie' at Adu's bar.
ASP Akonnor said Basare requested to buy more alcoholic but Adu refused to serve the deceased, resulting in misunderstanding between the two. He said a fight later ensued between Adu and Basare and Duah, Adu's friend joined the fight and hit the deceased with a club and he (deceased) collapsed and died instantly. The body of Basare had been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
