Kofi Agyekum, an accomplice is on the run whilst the court charged one Paulina Akyemaa for dishonestly receiving, and was sentenced to a fine of GHC300.00 and in default two years imprisonment.

Giving the facts of the case before the court presided over by Mr Yaw Atta Sampong, Police Inspector Fabian Sallah said the complainant Madam Joyce Ashong, a farmer, lives at Akim Anomase.

Inspector Sallah said on March 2, this year, at about 1600 hours Madam Ashong parked her 19 bags of palm fruits worth GHC600.00 by the roadside.

The prosecutor said the complainant detected the following day that some of the bags had vanished and conducted her own search. She later found her sacks containing the palm fruits at an oil mill at Akim Asene.

Inspector Sallah said Madam Ashong confronted Akyemaa, who claimed ownership of the palm fruits at the mill and admitted buying them from Animfu, Bonsu and Agyekum at the cost of GHC130.00.
