Two persons have been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command in connection with the robbery and murder of a 28-year-old woman.
Detailing the incident, the police stated that the victim, identified as Silver Ngozi, a resident of Asokore Mampong, was brutally attacked during a robbery when one of the arrested suspects stabbed her with a knife.
The police confirmed that the stabbing, which occurred on December 6, 2025, resulted in the victim’s untimely death.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, December 15, 2025, the police said the suspects were apprehended following intelligence-led operations conducted on December 12, 2025, at around 9 PM.
The police further stated that after committing the attack, the suspects went into hiding at a hideout at Aboabo, Kumasi, where they were later arrested by a joint team from the regional police headquarters and the Anti-Robbery Unit in Kumasi.
They have been identified as 20-year-old Farouk Iddris, a motorbike mechanic and rider, and 19-year-old Salim Mohammed, a motorbike mechanic and rickshaw rider.
"A search conducted in the room of Farouk Iddris led to the retrieval of a machete, knives, and other offensive weapons. During interrogation, both suspects admitted to committing the robbery.
"Salim Mohammed, who was the pillion rider on the day of the incident, identified a zigzag-edged knife as the weapon he used to stab the deceased," a police statement added.
The police have, therefore, appealed to the public for any information that could assist with their ongoing investigation.
