Five men, including two police men, were on Tuesday remanded by a Kumasi circuit court into prison custody for allegedly robbing some chines business men at gun point at Tabosere a village near Manso Nkwanta.
The accused- D/L/CPL. Kafui Kumah, 25, a policeman G/L/CPL. Daniel Omari, 31, a policeman, Prince Akotula aged 38 years, trader, Aboagye Kwarting, 22 years, trader, Kwadwo Charles, 31 years, a driver, were said to have conspired and robbed two Chinese business men; Shown Gping and Hai Heng of their three mobile phones, quantity of gold concentrates sand and cash sum of GH 4,000.00
The court presided over by Mary M.E Nsenkyire remanded the Five accused person after they pleaded not guilty to the charge of conspiracy and robbery and would reappear on 2nd February 2017.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Amoako told the court that, on 15/01/17 at about 7:30 am, the accused persons and two others who are at large on board Nissan Camera Taxi cab went to the complaints mining site at Manso Tabosere and robbed them of three mobile phones, quantity of gold and cash sum of GH 4,000.00.
Chief Inspector Amoako indicted that, D/L/CPL. Kafui Kumah, was armed with AK 47 rifle with 15 rounds of ammunitions whiles G/L/CPL. Daniel Omari with a police handcuff attacked the chines business men and subjected them to severe beating before ribbing them of all their belongings.
He told the court that the accused handcuffed the two businessmen and took them to the roadside here they had packed their taxi cab driven by Kwadwo Charles.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor hinted that the town folks who had wind of the activities chased and arrested the accused, the irate town folks touched the taxi cab.
However, a search conducted on the accused led to the retrieval of a golden nugget which was identified has part of the gold robbed from the two Chinese businessmen.
