Two Police Officers have been killed by alleged Fulani herdsmen at Sekyere Afram Plains in the Ashanti Region.

The two officers were killed early Thursday morning while returning from patrol duties.

The District Chief Executive for Sekyere Afram Plains, Joseph Owusu, who confirmed the death of the two officers to Radio Ghana, said the killing of the two policemen has created some sort of tension and anxiety in the district.

Mr. Owusu said the Ashanti Regional Security Council is deploying a combined team of Police and Military personnel to Sekyere Afram Plains.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah, has assured the people of Asante Akyem Agogo and Sekyere Afram Plains of their safety.

He said the police is on top of issues and will protect lives and property.

He said the bodies of the two officers have been deposited at the morgue.
