Two Golfers discharged of dishonestly receiving charge

Tema, July 15 GNA -- Two golfers, Ebenezer Adablanu and Victor Brave Mensah of Tema County Golf Club, who were charged with dishonestly received two stolen golf sticks from a golf caddy were on Thursday acquitted and discharged by a Tema Circuit tribunal for lack of evidence.

The tribunal chairman, Captain Philip Agbeyome (rtd) ordered that the sticks be confiscated to the state.

The prosecutor told the tribunal that two caddies, Felix Kekeney Ocansey, a tailor and Yaw Mintah, a refrigerator repairer, stole the golf sticks from the Sakumono Celebrity Golf Club.

The prosecutor said on May 30, the Complainant detected that two of his three sticks were missing and suspected Mintah and his investigations traced the sticks to the Tema County Golf Club.

A report was made to the Police, whose investigations revealed that while Ocansey and Mintah stole the sticks, Bismark Sorgbordzor a factory hand sold them to Adablanu and Mensah The tribunal found Ocansey, Mintah and Sorgbordzor guilty last week and imposed a fine of 100,000 cedis on each one of them.
