There have been mixed reactions from a section of Ghanaians following a prophecy by a popular Kumasi-based Prophet, Reindolph Oduro Gyebi that a catastrophe will befall Ghana’s football national team, Black Stars and other renowned people in the country.
Some Christians are of the view that there is the need for Ghanaians to pray in order to avert the impending disaster spoken of by the Man of God but people from a different religious divide argue that it is pointless.
''What the Prophet is saying is very wrong if he is saying he had a revelation, there is Almighty God so you don't have to come out to say your colleague is going to die, if he can come out to tell us his date of death then we can take what he is saying about Abedi Pele and the plane crash of the black stars. What he is saying is just unfortunate, I don't think any good Prophet will say this. We Muslims don't believe in this. Maybe he just needs money or something from those people,” a Muslim challenged
''I am a Christian and I know God reveals to redeem. I don't know his calling so I won't say what he is saying is not true. I believe that if you are affected by what he said then I believe that something must be done'' one Christian debunked the viewpoint of the Muslim.
The Kumasi-based Prophet who shot into fame after he made a prophecy about the Kintampo Waterfalls tragedy has been widely criticized by sections of the public suggesting that it is just a yardstick to be popular.
Bishop Reindolph Oduro Gyebi, General Overseer of God’s Crown Chapel in Kumasi made an appeal to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to declare a national day of prayer for the clergy to pray against a looming disaster that is set to befall the country leading to hundreds of deaths.
“An update of a prophetic word. You remember God through me revealed that there will be strong winds and thunder, today I bring the update. People should watch out. This is a prophetic update. I made this revelation 2 or 3 weeks ago. I saw thunder and strong winds accompanied by floods destroying properties and many drowning in the floods. Lives were lost”, he revealed
The renowned prophet who prophesied the death of football maestro Abedi Ayew Pele and a plane crash involving the senior national team, the Black Stars last week, insists it is only prayer that is required to avert the said disaster that will come in the form of floods and ethnic conflict.
