A section of the public has confirmed the approval rating poll that suggested that 62% of Ghanaians are happy with the Akufo-Addo led government’s performance.

In the research conducted by the Department of Political Science, University of Ghana, on democratic governance, 62% of the 5000 voters sampled said they were pleased with how the country is being run by the current government.

Out of the 5,000 respondents interviewed in 250 electoral areas across the country, 52.7 percent of them said they would vote for President Akufo-Addo’s again while 33.1% opted for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb, a section of Ghanaians corroborated the research findings of UG but were quick to charge the President to retrieve state monies that were looted by corrupt individuals in both the private and public sector.

“The President and his ministers have really done well, and we Ghanaians are happy with their performance. The policies they have introduced have been of great help to Ghanaians. But one thing the President must do it to retrieve stolen monies. Some of these monies can be used to fund polices such at the Free SHS program” one of the interviewees said.

“The government is really doing and we can all see that but he must make sure that monies stolen by previous government officials are collected,” another added.

Some Ghanaians also want government to focus on creating job opportunities for the teeming youth to avert the unemployment situation in the country.

Below is a video which captures their thoughts on the research.
