Train officers for attacks - Security Analyst to Ghana Police

Security Analyst Adib Saani has recommended that the Police service adopts new, innovative measures to address the increasing threats against its officers in the country.

According to him, protective gear and in-service training should be given to police officers to ensure readiness especially during attacks

Adib Saani made these suggestions on the back of the recent murder of two Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) policemen by some unknown men in an unregistered vehicle, which even happened at Gomoa Budumburam in the Central Region Wednesday.

In a press statement, he noted that the demanding nature of the work of Police Officers as far as arresting, investigating and giving evidence against suspected criminals is concerned, makes policing a high-risk venture.

He further suggested that new strategies be adopted to ensure personnel are psyched to counter such attacks subsequently.
