Tourism Minister To Lead Cruise Aboard Dodi Princess

The Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with the Volta River Authority, is is inviting members of the Legislature to the Dodi Islands on December 17th, 2011 to discuss ways of developing the island into an enviable tourist destination in Ghana. The two-hour cruise to the island will provide some relaxation to the Honourable Members.

This activity, an initiative of Sector Minister, Hon. Akua Sena Dansua, is also to instill in Ghanaians, especially those with busy schedules, the need to make time for recreation, relaxation and amusement. According to Hon. Dansua, such tours to tourist sites are aimed at exposing policy makers and Corporate Ghana to some potential investment opportunities in the sector, and thereby attract the needed capital investment.

The Ministry, in September, organised a similar programme dubbed “Ambassadorial Tour” for members of the Diplomatic Corp and the media as part of the World Tourism Day Celebrations. The tour, the first of its kind, took the delegation to the Kpando Grottos, the Wli Falls, and the Kpando-Torkor Landing site. Members of the delegation, among others, expressed the need for similar tours in future.
