Top military men retire

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on Friday announced the retirement of the Forces Sergeant Major (FSM) Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Daniel Yaw Adu, after 37 years of distinguished military service.

FSM CWO Adu was presented with a plaque for his immense contribution by the Chief of Defence Staff, Rear Admiral Geoffery Mawuli Biekro depicting the staff of office of the FSM.

A Ghana Armed Forces statement signed by Lieutenant Commander M. A. Larbi for the Director of Public Relations and copied to the Ghana News Agency said. FSM CWO Adu expressed gratitude to Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay, former Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs and Directors General for their support, which enabled him to perform his duties efficiently.

He also commended officers and civilian employees for their support during his tenure of office.

FSM CWO Adu urged colleague officers to offer similar support to the incoming FSM, CWO Dickson Owusu.

FSM CWO Adu was appointed Forces Sergeant Major in May 2009, to help in the smooth administration of GAF particularly on matters affecting the interest and well-being of soldiers, ratings, airmen as well as their cordial relationship with officers.
