Thunder kills 3 SHS students in the Volta Region

Three final year students of the Jim Bourton Memorial Agriculture Senior High School in the Volta region are reported dead after they were struck by thunder.

The students met their untimely death on the school compound during a light downpour.

The school located in Logba in the Amedzofe South District has been hit by a number of tragedies in the recent past. This brings the number of final year students who have died this month alone to four after another was knocked down by a car.

Narrating the tragedy to XYZ News, the English Language teacher of the school Noah Kwadwo Tempong said “there was a slight shower of rain and all of a sudden, thunder struck and unfortunately three of the students were victims.”

The victims, two males and a female, were rushed to the Hohoe Government Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
