Throw out “clueless, visionless” Mahama Gov’t in 2016 – PPP

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has urged Ghanaians to kick out what its Youth Wing describes as the “clueless, visionless and helpless” leadership of President John Mahama in 2016, just as Delegates of the governing party did of its old executives at the party’s national congress held in Kumasi on Saturday.

In a statement signed by the party’s National Youth Coordinator Divine Nkrumah, the Youth wing said it was important Ghanaians follow the example set by the NDC Delegates and vote out the “visionless” administration of the Mahama-led Government when the national elections come in two years.

“Indeed, NDC delegates have shown that they are democrats and we must all learn from their example in moving forward as a nation,” the PPP stressed.

It added: “Ghanaians ought to take a cue from the NDC delegates who have set the model to follow at their National Delegates Congress by replacing the old executives with new persons they believe can move the party forward by producing results.

“This clearly shows that the delegates and party members were not in the least pleased with the old crop of unproductive leaders who had no vision in terms of advancement of the party. The delegates must therefore be applauded for setting the example that Ghanaians ought to follow in 2016 - that is, getting rid of the current non-performing NDC government whose only achievement has been to bring the nation into economic turmoil.”

“This is the kind of lesson that we must all learn from,” the statement said, adding: “The Mahama-led Administration has so-far proven to be helpless and clueless in the face of the economic and power challenges that the nation has been plunged into due to the government’s ineffectiveness.”

“Crude Oil prices have reduced to a record level of under $60 per barrel, yet we are selling a gallon of petrol for more than GHC 15 in Ghana today.

“Under the Mahama-led government, Ghana has seen corruption at unprecedented heights thus prompting international bodies to grade Ghana as a country high in corruption. Under his watch, the inviolable presidential lounge at Kotoka International Airport has become a conduit for export of cocaine in volumes that even Colombia will tremble at.

“Ghanaians certainly do not need such a clueless and visionless leadership. The NDC has shown the way for change and Ghana must follow and change come 2016.”
