Police in the Eastern region have apprehended three persons suspected to be among a gang that robbed a popular hardware shop in Koforidua, Friday dawn.

The suspects, Prince Kwaku Asare,24, Kwame Abass,19 and Samuel Awudza alias Dada,19 were arrested by operatives of the regional Criminal Investigation Department of the police at their hideout at Obuoma, a suburb of Koforidua.

They are suspected to be part of a group of six armed men who broke into DOS AMINGOS limited, tied security men on duty, broke into the company's safe deposit box and made away with a cash sum of GHC38,405.

Regional police PRO, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said the suspected robbers who were all masked and wielded machetes and guns escaped with their booty before the police officers arrived at the crime area after receiving a distress call.
