Across platforms like X and Facebook, users have been posting photos, videos, and personal accounts of missing individuals in January 2026, sparking widespread concerns and questions about the apparent surge in such cases.

According to a Ghana Police amber alert, three-year-old Joycelyn was abducted from her school at Konongo on January 15, 2026, by a young woman.
The report stated that the child was last seen wearing a striped straight school uniform dress.
The alert further described the suspected abductor as approximately 25 years old, dark in complexion, dressed in a white Lacoste shirt and a black skirt, with plaited hair.
