Three To Contest Afigya-Sekyere East Seat

Kumasi Three people filed their nomination papers to contest the Parliamentary seat in the Afigya-Sekyere East Constituency when nominations closed at Agona-Ashanti. They are Commander Pius M.G. Griffiths (rtd), Deputy Minister of Communications for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kwasi Akomea Kyeremateng, a Pharmacist for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Mr Solomon Oduro Amaning, a Tailor, for the National Convention Party (NCP). An official of the Ashanti Regional office of the Electoral Commission who disclosed this to the GNA in Kumasi today, said the elections have been scheduled for Tuesday, June 10. The election in the constituency was re-scheduled as a result of a court action by some electorate who were allegedly disqualified after the registration exercise.
