Political analyst Nana Piesie Anto has criticized those who believe Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang doesn’t contribute to the NDC and its presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama’s ticket.

He referred to individuals like these as political jokers.

The analyst stated that perceptions that she did not add any value to the 2020 presidential election are not objective.

He said the former education minister ran a solid campaign in 2020 and contributed immensely to the performance of the NDC despite losing the presidential election.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 86.5 FM, he said, “Those who say she added no value to the ticket in 2020 were not in Ghana. She ran a solid campaign.

"She went across the country and had people waiting to listen to her all the time, and in some instances, she met people at 2:00 am.

“I can say on authority that she is formidable. She is solid. She is a decent politician, and people listen to her whenever she speaks. The woman is efficient. We need a new mindset for discussing politics in Ghana.

"We have poor roads and other challenges, and instead of you focusing on ways we can address them, you are worried about this decent woman. People have different ways of doing their politics. We all have our ways of attracting people to follow us.”

Piesie Anto praised her acceptance speech at her outdoor ceremony as inspiring due to its positive remarks.

“It contained ways on how best we can govern the country and make it better. She touched on unity and teamwork and how we could, as a people, mobilise ourselves and manage our resources to benefit the people.

"We have natural resources, but we have not developed as a people, and these were some of the things she spoke about and ways she thought we could do it better,” he stressed.

He stressed that the days where we allowed politics of insults were over and we should allow decent people to enter the game so we can have the opportunity to listen to what they can do for the country and decide which one of them to vote for.

He said we need men and women with integrity to hold public office and hold to account those who steal from the state.
