A third-year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), David Osei Agyapong, has reportedly died after drowning in the university's swimming pool.

A video shared on social media on November 8, 2026, shows the student making what appears to be his final jump from a springboard into the swimming pool.

The springboard is reported to be 17.6 feet high, while the pool is 17.9 feet deep.

The video, which has circulated online, captures Agyapong, an old student of Adisadel College, climbing onto the springboard before plunging into the water.

The student reportedly drowned in the pool after the jump.

News of the death has prompted an outpouring of tributes on social media, with several users, including his old schoolmates, mourning the young student.

Meanwhile, the university is yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
