Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has described his firm’s accurate prediction of the Akwatia by-election outcome as one of the most fulfilling forecasts he has conducted.
Global InfoAnalytics had projected victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Bernard Baidoo Bediako, with 53 percent of the total votes cast.
The Electoral Commission’s certified results later confirmed Bediako’s win with 18,199 votes, ahead of Solomon Kwame Asumadu of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who secured 15,235 votes.
Owusu Patrick of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) obtained 82 votes. In total, 33,819 valid ballots were cast, with 303 rejected.
Akwatia By-Election reflects voters' will, not vote-buying – Mussa Dankwah
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Dankwah admitted that he and his team were under enormous pressure ahead of the contest.
“I knew I would have been taken to the slaughterhouse. They were preparing to take me there to finish me if I got this wrong,” he stated.
Dankwah urged political parties to prioritise research and science in their campaigns, stressing that propaganda and insults no longer influence the majority of Ghanaian voters.
“Over 70 percent of people who vote in Ghana today are below 35 years old. That is something political parties must appreciate and understand. These voters are well-connected, they are on social media, and they will be quick to fact-check you. If they realise that you are telling lies, that is your end,” he cautioned.
Why Mussa Dankwah is 99% certain the NDC will win Akwatia by-election
