They have ‘Invincible Forces’, we have ‘Hawks’ – Ponkoh

The vigilante group that has emerged in the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) known as The Hawks, will provide security for the party and its officials while in opposition, former Ejisu/Juabeng municipal chief executive, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, has said.

On Saturday, 28 April, two heavily-muscled men in black T-shirts branded as ‘The Hawks’, were seen carrying out security duties at the party’s Unity Walk held in the Ashanti Region.

Reports from the grounds of the unity walk indicate that The Hawks coordinated the event.

Mr Yamoah Ponkoh told Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Monday, 30 April that: “If they have Invincible Forces, we also have The Hawks, and, so, we will see.

“We in the NDC want peace in the country, we will not foment any trouble in the country,” he said.

He added: “The Hawks will provide security for the party as we are in opposition.”
