The flagbearer of the All Peoples’ Congress (APC) Hassan Ayariga says “we have more armed robbers in government agencies than the smaller ones you see stealing the minor things.”
Speaking on TV3’s political program THE PLATFORM, which is aimed at giving all party flagbearers the opportunity to address the nation on what their party policies are of the 2016 elections, Hassan Ayariga indicated that the fight against armed robbers should be tackled from the root.
“The first thing is to find out what the course problem is. You don’t tackle from the top.
If you tackle from the top, you’d kill everybody because we have more armed robbers in the system than those out there.
“We have more armed robbers in government institutions than the smaller ones you see robbing and taking the minor things. So what we need to do is to first find situations where we can create jobs so that we can link unemployment to job creation.”
Mr. Ayariga who is making a second attempt to become President of Ghana was emphatic that one key way of fighting corruption was through job creation and youth empowerment. He said “we have not drawn any policy to absorb those [youth]. The armed robbers are your brothers, your fathers and your uncles.
We will design special initiatives to make sure that Ghana’s young men and women work effectively.”
The various flagbearers of the various political parties would be would be taking their turns on THE PLATFORM every Saturday at 4pm on TV3.
