There are NO cracks in the NDC-Asiedu Nketiah

Contrary to undesirable speculations in a cross section of the Ghanaian media to the effect that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in shambles, the general secretary of the part Johnson Asiedu Nketia popularly known as ‘’general mosquito’’ says the NDC is strong and solid.

‘’I do not see any confusion in the party; every party has shades of opinions and it will continue to be like.’’ He Said.

According to him every big party is a coalition in itself, where people think and speak differently. He said though people think and speak differently there was the need to observe and jealously guard the things which unites and brings people together as a political party, and believes those things would strengthen the NDC.

Mr. Nketiah described former president Rawlings as a faithful believer of the NDC and had been attending the National Executive Meetings (NEC) meetings faithfully.

‘’These talks about OUR founder having left the NDC baffles me, and I do not know where it’s coming from. Founder Rawlings participates in all NEC meetings to which he has invitation’’. He bemoaned.

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah explained to Radio Gold’s’ Samuel Ablordeppey in Accra, that, Opinions appear to be divided in the party front. A group thinks and believes that the NDC could not win an election without Chairman Rawlings, whiles the other group said the ruling NDC could win the 20012 election without former president Rawlings.

He indicated that since there was no evidence to the speculation making the rounds to the effect that the charismatic founder was parting ways with the NDC, there was the need to treat the ‘Tittle- Tattle’ with a pinch of salt.

The NDC general secretary expatiated that, the NDC had both won and lost elections with former President Rawlings. He continued however that what remains a mystery was the fact that the Ruling party had not gone into any election without Mr Rawlings yet thus it was difficult to postulate into the future especially, in case he does not join.

Throwing more light into the matter, general Mosquito said, ‘’for those who claim that without him we cannot win elections, gets response that he was around when the party lost the 2000 and 2004 elections, he was also around when the party won the 2008 polls, thus it’s dicey to say we will win or lose with or without him. I don’t think that it will come to that; I pray it does not come to that because he is the founder of the NDC.’’

Flt. Lt Jerry John Rawlings will forever remain the founder of the party. We did not need a clause in the party’s constitution to recognize the fact that Mr. Rawlings was the founder.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah queried? How many chapters in the bible did Jesus write? ‘’ He did not write anything but every church recognizes Jesus as the head of the church, therefore the recognition of the role former President Rawlings played gives him the title of a founder.’’
