The Sharks Quiz 2.0 launched in Accra

In yet another adventure for high school students looking to brandish their brain power among peers for the glory of winning a championship title, Africa Schools Online launches The Sharks 2.0, a team-based single-elimination competition among qualifying high schools in Ghana.

The second season of The Sharks Quiz invites academic excellence and collegial competition in pursuit of scholastic achievement and recognition.

All public and private high schools in Ghana are eligible to participate. Each school assembles one team of four student members and one alternate.

Schools are invited to register their team for the one-day qualifying exam, administered in partnership with Ecampus LLC, to determine the sixteen competing teams. Once selected, the sixteen school teams will face off in fifteen single-elimination rounds, taped in Accra.

“This year’s competition promises to be exciting. For the first time, in addition to the high school edition, a juniors’ edition involving eight junior high schools will feature in The Sharks Quiz. Our quest in all this, is to test students’ appreciation of core competencies, i.e. Literacy, Numeracy, STEM and Social/Civic Literacy; skills set needed to excel in today’s global village” Mr. Abel Ohene Acquaye, Executive Producer of Africa Schools Online, said.

“We are very pleased to include more technology in our quiz set-up which will feature Virtual Reality (VR) problems and online experiments. This advances our own mission of preparing African students for Global education opportunities and for the new world of work”.

Qualifying guidelines, dates for both the qualifying quiz event and competition, testing standards and resources, and other relevant information about The Sharks 2.0 for school administrators and academic coaches, as well as information about corporate sponsorship opportunities, will soon be available on the Web site,
