The Government should install programmable thermostat ...

in pubic places to save electricity.

The Ghana government should encourage programmable thermostart in schools, colleges, universities, hospitals and other public and private organisations to save power. We can all see that even in broad daylight, streets lights are on, but if we encourage this it will save energy and money for the country. Individuals should also take this into consideration then it reduce their cost. since higher percent of a Ghanaian salary is use to pay bills. if we all take interest in this it will help the country a lot. Using a programmable thermostat in your home is one of the easiest ways you can save energy, money, and help fight global warming. A programmable thermostat helps make it easy for you to save by offering four pre-programmed settings to regulate your home's temperature in both summer and winter - when you are asleep or away. The pre-programmed settings that come with programmable thermostats are intended to deliver savings without sacrificing comfort. Depending on your family's schedule, you can see significant savings by sticking with those settings or adjust them as appropriate for your family. The key is to establish a program that automatically reduces heating and cooling in your home when you don't need as much. Use the programmable thermostat calculator to see what you can save with set-back temperatures that work for your home and offices.

The Government should launch programmes and to educate how this can be effective and how it can help we Ghanaians a lot. The programmable thermostart should also be made available to workers, teachers and others for them to use it. It has been recorded that about 90% of streets lights are always on 24hours. This is really causing financial lost to the state. Some workers also forget to off their appliances before leaving for work. The programmable thermostart can also reduce fire outbreaks. It is high time we start helping ourselves and the country as a whole.

Am appealing to the authorities in charge of electricity to take this seriously into consideration and let the government accept this proposal and put it into work.
