Black Stars head coach, Carlos Queiroz, appears to have been left highly impressed by goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi during Ghana’s training session in Wales ahead of the international friendly against Wales on June 2, 2026.
Agbasi, who plays for Hearts of Oak, caught the attention of the Portuguese tactician during a goalkeeper training drill at Dragon Park after producing a series of impressive saves.
In a video shared by the Ghana Football Association from the team’s training base, Queiroz could be heard enthusiastically cheering on the shot-stopper while observing the goalkeepers’ session led by deputy goalkeepers’ trainer Fatawu Dauda.
At one point, the former Portugal coach shouted, “That’s my goalkeeper!”, a moment that quickly sparked excitement among fans following the team’s preparations online.

The reaction has fueled fresh debate over the goalkeeping hierarchy in the Black Stars camp, with some supporters now believing Agbasi could force his way into Ghana’s World Cup plans if he continues to impress the technical team.
With competition for places intensifying ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, every training session is being closely monitored by the coaching staff as Queiroz assesses players before finalising his squad.
Agbasi’s confidence and sharp reflexes in training have now put him firmly in the spotlight, with fans beginning to wonder whether the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper could emerge as a surprise contender for Ghana’s number one spot heading into the tournament.
