National Security has outlined a series of measures to heighten security within the country in the aftermath of the Burkina Faso terrorist attack on a luxury hotel in Ouagadougou, the capital of Ghana’s northern neighbour, on Friday January 15, which killed 28 people.
As part of the measures, AccraFM.com has learnt that National Security will be meeting operators of hotels, airlines and malls to put in anti-terrorism measures.
National Security will first meet managers of 27 major hotels that operate in Accra on Tuesday January 19. The hotels include:

Fiesta Royale Hotel
Best Western Premier Hotel
Tang Palace Hotel
Paloma Hotel
Penta Hotel
Mensvic Grand Hotel

Oak Plaza Hotel
Holiday Inn Hotel

Also, hoteliers in the country have been given a month to procure body scanners to scrutinise all visitors.
They are also required to have metal barricades to control entry into their facilities. Furthermore, the hotels have been asked to start compiling databases of all visitors.
On Wednesday January 20, National Security officers will meet with the various airlines that operate in and out of the country. They include KLM, Egypt Air, Air Maroc, among others.
It is part of efforts to avoid drug trafficking and hijacking of aircraft by terrorists. At the meeting, the airlines will be told to always announce their flight manifest before cruising onto the tarmac.
On Thursday January 21, National Security will meet all mall operators in the country to discuss similar anti-terrorism security measures.
