Tensions reduce, peace returns to Odododiodoo

Mr Djanie Mogoah, Chairman of the Intimate Club of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said calm has returned to the Odododiodoo Constituency after the recent tension during the ongoing biometric registration.

He said the constituency had remained peaceful after the NDC and the NPP met with the police and agreed to talk to their supporters to stop fighting.

In a Press release issued to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday in Accra, Mr Mogoah, noted that had the police not intervened to calm down supporters of both parties, things would have gotten worse.

He said “the police advised both parties not to fight but to let peace prevail, so that we maintain the current peace in the country at all times”.

Mr Mogoah called on the constituents to continue to maintain the current peace and advised them to report to the police anytime they were offended by anyone.

“Since we are in an election year, it is important to maintain peace in the country for us to have peaceful general elections” he added.**
