Tension Brews At Sonapack

Workers of SONAPACK Ghana Limited in the Tema Industrial area have threatened to hit the streets to protest against their poor condition of service as a result of the behavior of their Human Resource Manager, Caroline Codjoe.
Caroline who is married to a Ghanaian has come under serious attack by some aggrieved workers of the company who believe her continues stay in office will collapse SONAPACK, manufacturers of corrugated cardboards any time soon.
According to workers of the company, Caroline Cudjoe who is a British has caused several workers to quit the job because of the way and manner conduct affairs at the company which is located in the Tema Industrial area. Speaking in separate interviews with the DAYBREAK newspaper, the workers who wanted to remain anonymous for fear of victimization accused their HR of not having their welfare at heart.
They said their workers union has been rendered redundant by their HR who frequently threatens workers with sack.
So far, the aggrieved workers disclosed that the Union Chairman together with the Secretary and his Deputy have been sacked for no apparent reason.
The situation they said has infuriated and demoralized most of the workers who want Caroline Cudjoe brought to order.
On their meager salary, the workers alleged that when the Production Manager of SONAPAK approached Caroline to make her understand that the company has achieved its target through the hard work of the workers hence the need to increase the salary, the HR threatened the Production Manager to keep his mouth shut or she will send him back to France where he came from.
Prior to the coming of Caroline Cudjoe, the angry workers said SONAPACK Ghana Limited had a system of transportation for the workers where a bus conveys them to and fro. This system the workers lamented has been cancelled by their HR putting the workers in all sorts of stress.
They have therefore called on management of the company to call Caroline to order before the unexpected happens.
They said there was the need for management to monitor the activities of Caroline which could ruin the fortunes of SONAPACK.
