Ten students graduate at Alliance Francaise School at Tema

Tema, Jan. 26, GNA- Mr Samuel Evans Ashong Narh, Tema Municipal Chief Executive at the weekend stated that the establishment of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) should encourage Ghanaians, especially students to be very serious with the learning of the French language.

Speaking at the graduation of ten pioneer students of the Alliance Francaise School at Tema after going through a 15 month-course, he said the people of Ghana, which is surrounded by Francophone countries, should be able to communicate with neighbours without any hindrance. He pledged the Tema Municipal Assembly's (TMA) support for the institution to grow and make the necessary impact on the community since many multinationals reside in the city.

Mr Jean Berret, the French Ambassador, assured his country's preparedness to assist Ghana to promote the studies of French language. 26 Jan 04
