Tema Youth played their best game of the season to pick up all three points against Hearts of Oak at the Tema Park on match day seven of the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians, fresh from a massive victory against sworn rivals Great Olympics lined-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Cosmos Dauda leading the line and being supported by Alex Kuoami.
Tema Youth who were looking for their first win against the Phobians in what was reminiscent of the old times before Tema Youth were relegated some seasons ago started the game on the back foot.
It took only 17 minutes for the home side to take the lead against a dithering Hearts of Oak side who were yet to settle and get to their game.
To be fair that was that was least the home side deserved after a fantastic start to the season in what was a breathtaking game.
If the goal was a wakeup call, the Phobians responded very well with a good game with Thomas Abbey, Cosmos Dauda and Inusah Musah all going close to an equalizer.
But that did not dither the home side who worked super hard to end the first half ahead.
The second half begun with goalkeeper Akpovi in post for Tema Youth in inspired form and playing like nothing will get past him.
He saved a powerful header from Fatau and followed it up with a good save from Alex Kouasi.
That proved to be a good save but all that would orove nothing with a good finish from Hearts of Oak skipper Thomas Abbey who stood up to rescue a point for the Phobians to the delight of Scottish giants coach Frank Nuttal.
The goal did not kill the spirit in the home side with goalkeeper Ben Mensah in post for Hearts of Oak needing to dive to his left to save a last minute shot from Paintsil who was determined to get all three points for his home side.
Bu there was no denying Tema Youth on the 75th minute when after a double deflection took the ball past Ben Mensah in post for the Phobians to send the Tema stadium into ecstasy and condemn the Phobians to their second league defeat of the season.
Hearts of Oak had 15 minutes to respond but tried as they did, they failed to get the all important equalizer.
