Tema Police takes measures to combat crime in the municipality

Tema, May 26, GNA - The Tema Regional Police Command, as part of its measures to combat crime in the municipality, has been making intermittent swoops on dens of drug addicts.

On Wednesday, it raided three well-known hideouts of drug peddlers including Community Nine cemetery, Sakumono and Community One Site Two where 32 people were arrested for possessing Indian hemp and loitering. Seventeen were arrested at Community One, 11 were arrested at the cemetery while four were picked up at Sakumono.

Chief Inspector Yaw Nketiah-Yeboah, the Tema Police Public Relations Officer, told the GNA that two of the suspects, including a 32-year old woman, Anita Dede, were caught smoking some of the dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
