Residents of Prampram and environs have threatened to invade the offices of the Electricity Company of Ghana(ECG) unless the “reckless” and “ rampant” power outages are stopped.

There are reports the town has been consistently cut off from the power supply at the least opportunity, all running for the past month or so, a situation which has provoked some youth who have threatened to invade the ECG offices for some explanations.

Just last weekend, for example, the whole town was plunged into darkness for no reason given.

The power was restored but had to go off again, after less than an hour. Then following the heavy downpour on Monday night, the light again went off, the third in the day.

As of the time of filing this report, the power has not been restored, forcing even the district assembly to bring activities to a halt.

“ If dumsor is back and that’s why the rampant power cuts, that should tell us, “ one resident, Edwin Nartey, who runs a fresh fruit pub said.

Fuming with rage and unable to control his anger, he questioned the wisdom in the “ deliberate” power cuts Without any warning.

His frustration is shared by several other residents who are equally in the dark as to why the many power outages in the past months.
