A 19-year old unemployed man, Kwadwo Yeboah will spend the next 15 years behind bars after he was convicted of robbery and attempted murder by a Techiman circuit court in the Brong Ahafo.

The court presided over by His Honour Alexander Graham accordingly sentenced the accused after he pleaded guilty to the charges of robbery and attempted murder

According to the facts of the case as presented to the court by Detective Inspector M B Deboro, Police at Awisa, a community close to Wenchi received information on the afternoon of August 13, 2017 that the suspect violently attacked his assailant, Kwabena Twum a physically challenged person and visited cutlass wounds on his neck and back.

He tried making away with his Techno mobile phone after inflicting the multiple injuries on him, but the victim however mustered courage and struggled with the suspect despite how profusely he was bleeding while shouting for help.

Luck smiled on him when others within the neighbourhood came to his rescue and apprehended the suspect who was later handed over to the police.

In his caution statement, Kwadwo Yeboah admitted to committing the offence but pleaded for clemency but the trial judge who observed that he is notorious in criminal activities in the area, accordingly slapped the 15-year jail term on him to serve as a deterrent to others.
